What are Pune Metro operating hours?
Pune Metro operates from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily. First trains depart at 6:00 AM from both terminal stations, with last departures at 10:00 PM. Frequency ranges from 8-10 minutes during peak hours to 12-15 minutes during off-peak times.
How many lines does Pune Metro have?
Pune Metro has 2 operational lines: Purple Line (PCMC to Swargate, 17.4 km, 16 stations) and Aqua Line (Vanaz to Ramwadi, 11.4 km, 9 stations). These lines intersect at Civil Court station, which serves as the primary interchange hub.
What is the metro fare structure?
Pune Metro fares range from Rs. 10 to Rs. 35. Base fare is Rs. 10 for journeys up to 2 km, increasing by Rs. 2-3 per additional station. Peak hour surcharges do not apply. Children under 3 feet height travel free.
How to buy metro tickets?
Purchase tickets at station counters, automatic vending machines (ATVMs), via Pune Metro One mobile app, or through QR code digital tickets on the official website. Cash, debit/credit cards, and UPI payments are all accepted at ticket counters.
Can I use UPI/Phone Pay for metro?
UPI payments including Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, and BHIM are accepted at all Pune Metro ticket counters and vending machines. Digital ticket booking through the Pune Metro One app also supports UPI payments seamlessly.
Is Pune Metro air-conditioned?
All Pune Metro trains are fully air-conditioned with temperature maintained at 22-25°C. Even during summer when Pune experiences extreme heat, coaches remain cool and comfortable. This makes metro travel preferable to buses during hot months.
Are there women-specific coaches?
Pune Metro reserves the first coach (Coach 1) exclusively for women at all times. Women passengers may also use other coaches, but men and boys above 12 years are prohibited from the ladies' coach. This arrangement operates throughout the day.
Can I carry luggage on Pune Metro?
Passengers can carry luggage up to 15 kg per person. Standard bags, backpacks, and suitcases are allowed. Hazardous materials, inflammable items, and oversized cargo are prohibited. No extra charges apply for luggage within the weight limit.
Is there WiFi on Pune Metro?
Free WiFi is available at all Pune Metro stations via Maharashtra Fiber Network. Passengers connect using mobile OTP verification. Onboard WiFi rollout is in progress. Network speed is suitable for browsing and messaging but may slow during peak hours.

Can I change lines during my journey?
Transfer between Purple and Aqua Lines at Civil Court station, the sole interchange hub. Both lines share the same station building with clear wayfinding signage and escalators. Interchange is free if completed within 30 minutes; no additional fare is charged for line transfers.
How long does it take to travel between stations?
Pune Metro operates at 35-40 km/h average speed with 1.5-2 minutes between adjacent stations. Full Purple Line (PCMC to Swargate) takes ~35 minutes. Full Aqua Line (Vanaz to Ramwadi) takes ~25 minutes. Actual times may vary slightly based on dwell time.
What is the first train timing from each station?
First trains from terminal stations (PCMC, Swargate, Vanaz, Ramwadi) depart at 6:00 AM. Intermediate stations receive their first train between 6:00 AM and 6:20 AM depending on position along the line. Use the route planner for exact first train times.
What is the last train timing from each station?
Last trains from terminal stations depart at 10:00 PM sharp. Last trains from intermediate stations range from 10:00 PM to 10:25 PM depending on position. Always check the last train time for your specific station using the app or station display boards.
How do I find the nearest metro station?
Find your nearest station using our station locator or Pune Metro One app with GPS. Enter your address or current location to see stations within walking distance. All major stations are also marked on Google Maps and other navigation applications.
Are metro stations connected to bus stands?
Major Pune Metro stations connect with PMPML buses, particularly at Swargate, Shivaji Nagar, Civil Court, and PCMC. Bus stops are typically within 100-200 meters of metro stations. Multi-modal integration hubs with improved bus connections are being developed.
Can I use metro to reach Pune Airport?
Pune Airport is not directly on the metro network yet. The nearest station is Khadki on Purple Line, about 4 km from the airport. Take a metro to Khadki, then an auto-rickshaw or cab for the remaining distance. A direct airport metro line is planned for the future.
How to reach Swargate from Shivaji Nagar?
Board the Purple Line at Shivaji Nagar station heading toward Swargate. The direct journey takes approximately 12 minutes with no transfers required. Fare is Rs. 20. Shivaji Nagar is 5 stations from Swargate on the Purple Line.
Is there metro service on Sundays/holidays?
Pune Metro runs daily including Sundays and public holidays with no service breaks. Operating hours remain 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. Train frequency may be slightly reduced during major festivals like Diwali, but core service continues throughout the year.
What is the metro fare from X to Y station?
Pune Metro fares range from Rs. 10 to Rs. 35 based on distance traveled. Base fare is Rs. 10 for 2 km, adding Rs. 2-3 per station beyond that. Use our fare calculator or the Pune Metro One app to check exact fares between any two stations.
Are there any discounts for daily commuters?
Regular commuters save 10% on all rides using the Pune Metro Smart Card compared to token prices. Monthly passes offer unlimited travel: Rs. 1,500/month for Purple Line and Rs. 1,200/month for Aqua Line. The smart card can be purchased and recharged at all stations.
Can I use my metro card for bus travel?
Pune Metro smart cards are currently accepted only for metro travel on both Purple and Aqua Lines. Bus-metro integration is planned for the future. For now, PMPML bus travel requires a separate PMPML bus pass or cash fare.
Is there a daily/weekly pass available?
Pune Metro offers a Day Pass for Rs. 100 enabling unlimited travel on one line for 24 hours. Weekly passes are not available currently. Monthly passes are the best option for regular travelers: Rs. 1,500 for Purple Line and Rs. 1,200 for Aqua Line with unlimited rides.
How to recharge my metro card?
Recharge smart cards at station counters, ATVM machines, or via the Pune Metro One app. Accepts UPI, debit cards, and credit cards. Minimum recharge is Rs. 100 with a maximum balance limit of Rs. 3,000. Recharge is instant at physical locations.
What happens if I miss my station?
If you miss your station, continue to the next station and take a return train. You'll likely need a new ticket for the return journey. Inform station staff if you need assistance. There is no automatic refund or adjustment for missed stations.
Can I get a refund on unused tickets?
Unused tokens are non-refundable. Smart card balances can be fully refunded minus a Rs. 50 processing fee at any station. For genuine emergencies like medical situations, speak with the station manager on duty for possible exceptions on the same day of travel.
Are there group discounts available?
No group discounts are available for regular metro travel. Organizations can arrange bulk smart card issuance for employees with no bulk discount but simplified procurement. The standard 10% smart card discount applies uniformly to all passengers regardless of group size.
Are metro stations wheelchair accessible?
All Pune Metro stations are fully wheelchair accessible with dedicated entry gates, ramps, wide fare gates, and elevators connecting all levels from street to platform. Wheelchair-friendly restrooms are available at major stations. Wheelchair users can travel independently on Pune Metro.
Can I travel with a stroller/pram?
Baby strollers and prams are allowed on Pune Metro. Use elevators to access platforms as escalators are not suitable for strollers. Train coaches have designated spaces near doors for strollers and wheelchairs. Folding strollers should be collapsed during boarding.
Are there elevators at all stations?
Every Pune Metro station has at least one elevator connecting street, concourse, and platform levels. Major interchange stations like Civil Court have multiple elevators. All elevators are spacious enough for wheelchairs, strollers, and luggage. Elevators are the recommended route for accessibility needs.
Can I travel with my pet?
Pets are not permitted on Pune Metro except for guide dogs accompanying visually impaired passengers. Small pets in carriers are also generally not allowed. Use alternative transport options like pet-friendly cabs for pet travel. Violation of pet policy may result in penalties.
Is there special assistance for elderly/senior citizens?
Senior citizens aged 60+ receive 50% fare concession on all journeys. Dedicated service counters at major stations assist elderly passengers. Wheelchair escort service is available on advance request by contacting station staff. Priority seating near doors is reserved in all coaches.
Which Purple Line stations have parking facilities?
Parking is available at PCMC, Nashik Phata, Kasarwadi, Dapodi, Bopodi, and Swargate stations on the Purple Line. PCMC and Swargate terminals have the largest parking with separate sections for 2-wheelers (Rs. 20/day) and 4-wheelers (Rs. 40/day).
Which Purple Line stations are near IT parks?
Kasarwadi and Dapodi stations serve Moshi IT Park. Bopodi station is near Panchshil Business Park. Shivaji Nagar station connects to the Shivaji Nagar business district. These stations experience heavy footfall during morning and evening rush hours from IT professionals.
Which Purple Line stations are near railway station?
Shivaji Nagar metro station is closest to Pune Railway Station, approximately 3 km away. Take an auto-rickshaw (Rs. 30-50) or PMPML bus to reach the railway station. A future metro extension may provide direct connectivity to Pune Junction railway station.
Which Purple Line stations have food courts?
Food courts are available at major Purple Line stations: PCMC, Shivaji Nagar, Civil Court, and Swargate. These feature popular food brands and local eateries. Smaller stations have basic vending machines. Eating is not permitted on platforms or inside trains.
Which Purple Line stations are interchange points?
Civil Court station is the only interchange point, connecting Purple Line and Aqua Line. All other Purple Line stations are single-line stations. Civil Court is midway on Purple Line, making it the central hub for cross-line travel on the Pune Metro network.

Yashwantrao Chavan Nagar station serves Kharadi IT Park. Ramwadi station is near Eon IT Park corridor. Kharadi area has major offices of Accenture, Infosys, and other IT companies. These stations see heavy rush-hour traffic from IT professionals traveling from eastern Pune neighborhoods.
Which Aqua Line stations are near railway station?
No Aqua Line station is directly near Pune Railway Station. Transfer to Purple Line at Civil Court station, then travel to Shivaji Nagar (3 km from railway). PMPML buses and auto-rickshaws connect Shivaji Nagar metro to Pune Junction railway station.
Which Aqua Line stations have food courts?
Ramwadi terminal has a dedicated food court with various options. Yashwantrao Chavan Nagar station has basic food stalls. Other Aqua Line stations have limited food options with vending machines. Civil Court interchange has the best variety of food outlets on the Aqua Line.
Which Aqua Line stations are interchange points?
Civil Court is the sole interchange station on Aqua Line, connecting to Purple Line. All other Aqua Line stations (Vanaz, Chandni Chowk, Kothrud, Ideal Colony, Nal Stop, Deccan, Mandai, Ramwadi) are single-line stations without transfer options.
